A day at Tree60: The villa stands about 5 ft (1.5 m) off the ground, so the breeze moves through the glass walls and cools the rooms. Solar panels run the day’s power, water is drawn and filtered on site, and the private rooftop holds a bathtub above the canopy. The pool and solarium, the wellness center, the yoga platform, the jungle gym, and the temazcal fill the hours between, and the restaurant-bar takes the evening. Chemuyil beach is a short drive east, and Tulum’s town about 20 minutes south.

What makes Tree60 off-grid?

A photovoltaic system on each villa, on-site water made usable through filtration and softening, satellite internet, and a biological treatment system that returns used water clean to the ground. The villas were built by hand, with no machinery on the site, so the existing vegetation stayed standing. Security runs 24 hours.
