Daniel Castillo

Daniel Castillo is a licensed Real Estate Advisor at Heron. He came into real estate as an investor: during his own property purchase, a developer recognized his business instincts and invited him to work with them. He stayed. Six years later, at Heron, he advises buyers and investors — most of them foreign — on beachfront properties across the Riviera Maya and Punta Cana, from the position of someone who has been through the process himself.

Daniel trained as a lawyer. He holds a law degree from UAPN and a master’s in constitutional law from Universidad Tepantlato, and spent two decades working inside the Mexican federal court system before moving into real estate.

That background shapes how he advises. Foreign buyers in Mexico face legal risks most agents can’t parse — fideicomiso structure, title chain, ejido land history, active amparo proceedings, the gap between what a contract says and what a court would actually enforce. Daniel catches these risks early — before a client reaches an offer — and flags what needs formal legal review before it becomes a problem.
